Please join our annual Get 1, Give 2 campaign for the holidays to help us raise $20,000.

I am because we are.   During this special time of year, people around the world focus on spirituality, giving and the wellbeing of mankind.   Whether you celebrate Diwali, Chanukah, Christmas, Winter Solstice or nothing, we are all part of a common humanity.

Once again, we at the CFSC Consortium are engaged in our annual Get One, Give Two campaign to raise greatly-needed funds for the Consortium’s operations.  Between now and the end of February 2014, for every one gift you receive, we urge you to give at least two dollars to the Communication for Social Change Consortium.   Because we are a registered charity in the UK and a 501-c-3 nonprofit organization in the US, your gift is tax deductible.  We will use your contribution to help spark public discourse and community-based action in Africa around the shared values essential to moving the continent forward.  We are also prompting neighborhood-based action around “it takes a village” to deliver math and science education to children from underserved urban neighborhoods.

As we begin our work in 2014, we want to expand our focus closer to home.  As early as middle school, children living in many urban neighborhoods of the United States do not see math, science or technology studies as benefitting them or their families. Yet our collective future depends upon youth from diverse backgrounds embracing technology careers – often termed STEM (science, technology, engineering and math).  With help from local corporations, we will be addressing innovative, neighborhood-based solutions  to keep middle school children excited about math and science – and offering neighborhood activities  for families.

There are several ways to help us invest in Africa’s tomorrow and in the future of neighborhoods closer to home:

2013 has been a very challenging year for the Consortium – a time of re-evaluation and reflection about our organizational focus and future.  With your help, we will find new supporters and new grants to help us continue this essential work.  Thank you in advance for your support.
